Field service engineer

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation: Installing new equipment or machinery at customer sites according to specifications and guidelines.
  • Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance checks, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
  • Repair: Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues, and implementing appropriate repairs or replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Training: Providing customers with training on proper equipment usage, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of service visits, repairs, and equipment status. This may involve completing service reports, updating manuals, and documenting any modifications or upgrades.
  • Customer Support: Addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols during installation, maintenance, and repair activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software applications and diagnostic tools, such as test equipment and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, are essential for effectively conveying technical information to clients and colleagues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments and schedules.
  • Attention to Detail: Being detail-oriented is crucial for accurately diagnosing problems, following procedures, and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and meet service deadlines effectively.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other team members, such as engineers, technicians, and customer service representatives, to address complex issues and deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Any certifications from relevant organizations or manufacturers may be advantageous. Certifications in specific equipment or technologies like PLCs, HVAC, electrical systems, or medical equipment could be beneficial.
  • Readiness for frequent business trips.
