Transport Coordination Specialist/Dispatcher with Romanian language
The Transport Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and materials. This role involves planning transportation routes, coordinating with carriers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Transport Specialist works closely with logistics teams, suppliers, and customers to optimize transport operations and meet delivery requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Analyze transportation needs and select appropriate modes of transport (road, rail, air, sea).
- Establish and maintain relationships with transportation carriers.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor carrier performance and address any issues related to service.
- Track shipments from origin to destination to ensure timely and safe delivery such as delays, damages .
- Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for transportation and customs clearance.
- Generate reports on transportation costs, delivery performance, and other key metrics. –
- Monitor transportation costs and work to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement strategies to reduce transportation expenses without compromising service quality.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to transportation processes and practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Excellent comunication in a Romanian – fluent in written and oral, and English.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and MS Office applications.
- (SAP knowledge as additional advantage).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry standards.
- Experience with international shipping and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in data analysis and transportation optimization tools.
