Procurement Operations Lead

For an international manufacturing company, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Operations Lead. In this role, you will manage and guide a team of procurement specialists to ensure smooth and efficient purchasing processes. You will oversee supplier negotiations, contract management, and the monitoring of KPIs related to cost, quality, and delivery. The position requires close collaboration with production, logistics, and finance teams to align procurement activities with business needs. You will also drive process improvements, ensure compliance with company policies, and support the growth and development of your team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of procurement specialists, ensuring clear role allocation, effective communication, and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the procurement team.
  • Set team objectives, track performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive results.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously optimize procurement strategies to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality acquisition of goods and services.
  • Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and long-term partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, while monitoring performance against contracts, KPIs, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance teams to understand requirements and align purchasing activities with business goals.
  • Research market trends and industry insights to uncover opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all procurement activities, contracts, and expenses for full transparency and compliance.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse and production departments to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Stay up to date with legal, regulatory, and industry best practices to safeguard compliance and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 4–5 years of proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2–3 years of experience successfully leading a procurement or supply chain team in a production setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams effectively, with strong skills in understanding both individual and group needs.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
